Lt. Raven's personal log, Stardate 02012010. The USS Quantum received orders from Starfleet Command to investigate the disappearance of the USS Thomas. We changed course from our designated shakedown cruise plot and went to their aid. When we arrived, the USS Thomas was under attack from 3 Orion pirate cruisers. We destroyed 2 of the vessels and the third escaped. Once we were in the clear, I beamed over with a security and medical team to offer assistance. Unfortunately, Captain Allen was dead and about half the crew were either injured or killed. Considering our medical facilities were not nearly enough to accommodate the injured crew, a medical ship was assigned for triage duties. Afterwards, we resumed our original course.
On a separate note, security team 2 needs more training. I'll be assigning them to 14 training exercises per week in the holodeck. If no improvement is shown, more steps may be required.
